Australian High Commission Presents Bran Nue Dae in Colombo

The Australian High Commission presents the award-winning Australian film Bran Nue Dae in Colombo.

The fun-filled musical road movie will be shown in Colombo on Wednesday 6 June 2012 at the National Film Cooperation Cinema Hall.

The Australian High Commissioner, Her Excellency Robyn Mudie, said ‘Sri Lanka will have an opportunity to experience the best of Australian cinema with Bran Nue Dae. The film showcases Australia’s indigenous culture and the beauty of Australia’s landscape.’

High Commissioner Mudie further said, ‘Culture and the arts are very important for strengthening understanding between communities. We hope this film will bring to Sri Lankan audiences a fresh and vibrant perspective on Australia’.

The film, which stars multi-award winning Australian actor Geoffrey Rush, is a story about a young Australian Aboriginal boy’s journey home to trace his roots.
