BALGO: CONTEMPORARY AUSTRALIAN ART FROM THE BALGO HILLS

The Australian High Commission will host the "Balgo: Contemporary Australian Art from the Balgo Hills", made possible by a partnership between the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia and the Commonwealth art repository, Artbank, teh exhibition tours through Australia’s diplomatic missions worldwide. Balgo explores the stories, lives and history of indigenous Australians from the Balgo Hills in Western Australia. Bringing together some of the finest pieces of contemporary indigenous art to ever tour to international audiences, BALGO offers a raft of colour and energy from some of Australia’s most respected Aboriginal artists.
The exhibition wil take place from 16 February to 2 March 2011 at the JDA Perera Gallery, 46 Horton Place, Colombo 7. Entrance is free.
