VACANCY IN THE AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION
The Australian High Commission in Colombo invites applications for suitably qualified and motivated candidates to fill the above position.
Main duties include:
• Management of cash advances including petty cash reconciliations
• Preparation and processing of payments, invoicing and cost recovery processes
• Cashier duties including collection, receipting and banking of money and other remittances
• Provision of accounting information for end of month reporting and other statutory financial reports
• Salaries processing including calculation of overtime, EPF/ETF and other entitlements
• Handling of all official travel arrangements and processing
• Management and maintenance of Accounts records and documentation
Selection Criteria:
1. Accounting or other finance-related qualifications with an understanding of controls.
2. Practical experience and a strong understanding of accounts processing, banking procedures and salaries processing.
3. Practical experience in processing travel related matters.
4. Highly proficient computer skills particularly with MS Excel and Word. Experience using accounting packages – SAP experience preferred but not essential if applicant can demonstrate a high proficiency of other accounting software packages.
5. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with the ability to work as an effective team member.
6. Excellent communication and client service skills. High proficiency in spoken and written English. Applicants will be required to undergo proficiency testing.
7. High level of integrity and understanding of ethics.
8. High level of accuracy with attention to detail. Proactive approach with the ability to analyse and solve problems.
The salary offered will range from 62,232-70,133 LKR per month depending on experience and performance during probationary period plus other benefits. Offers of employment are dependent on a satisfactory security assessment and clearance.
