Victorian State Election 2010
The Victorian State election will be held on Saturday 27 November 2010.
You will be able to vote either in person at the Australian High Commission, Colombo, or by applying for a postal vote. You will need to know which Australian address you are currently enrolled at in order to be issued with the correct ballot papers for your electorate. You can check at http://www.vec.vic.gov.au/Lookup/CheckYourEnrolmentDetails.htm or by calling +61 3 9299 0595.
Please note that ballot papers may not be available at the High Commission until 17 November. If you intend coming in to vote before this date please contact us on +94-11-2463200 and press 1 for the Consular Section for further information before visiting the High Commission.
The Australian High Commission in Colombo, 21, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 07, will be conducting pre-poll voting on:
- Monday 15 November – 19 November – 0900-1600hrs
- Monday 22 November – 26 November – 0900-1600hrs
For security purposes only, please bring with you identification (for example your Australian passport) for ID presentation at the gate of the High Commission.
Alternatively, you can apply for a postal vote by going to www.vec.vic.gov.au and completing an “Application for a postal vote” form. The Australian High Commission Colombo will accept postal vote applications until Thursday 25 November. Your ballot papers will then be sent to you to complete and post back directly to the Victorian Electoral Commission. If you opt for a postal vote, apply now so that we can get your ballot papers to you in time.
